Archaeological Remains

Importance:
Within the reserve can be found at least 60 archaeological sites in which stone tools and pottery have been found, as well as the remains of buildings, forts, bridges, trails and towns.

Age of the remains:
The finds correspond to the Paleoindian, Arcaic, Formative Tarija-Chicha, and Incaic periods. They span the period from about 10,000 B.C. to 1,532 D.C.
