Great Lake

Importance:
It is a nesting area for a great variety of birds that fly in from many places far and near. It has an area of 346 Hectares in the dry season and of 970 Hectares in the rainy season. Its maximum depth is only 1.95 meters.

Landscapes:
The lake's deep blue water are framed by white sand dunes that hide archaeological treasures in their surroundings.

Recommended visiting time:
All year, but it is bigger during the rainy season of November to March.

Flora endemic to the lake:
Algae, and underwater and surface water plants. In the banks there exists a flood area where a lower form of grass grows.
