Springs and Water Falls

Importance:
These are the only fresh water sources for the region as well as the sources of water for the lakes.

Characteristics:
Born in the mountain range, they clear, pure water flows down towards the valleys. Through their journey they are used by local inhabitants to irrigate their crops.

Landscapes:
Waterfalls, rivers, streams, and brooks abound on the Inca trail decent making for beautiful mountain views and majestic panoramas.

Activities:
Wildlife-watching, photography, and trekking.

Recommended visiting time:
During the rainy season; December to February.
