Wetlands of Sama

Importance:
These water reservoirs are home to a great variety of aquatic flora and fauna, and an important breeding ground for various bird, amphibian and crustacean species. These are some of the reasons why they have been named "Wetlands of International Importance" by the RAMSAR convention.

Characteristics:
They are located in the plateaus where the ground water level is high and the ground's humidity is constant.

Recommended visiting time:
During the rainy season; December to February.
